[sin mes;OwVUE4R5n/STQ8ILB6MmABMIgrAA]
or can use [Spirit of failure] rather than [channeling] , or [radiation field] / [ether nightmare] rather than [viper's defense]
(Shadow arts=15 with superior on mask)
After reading this thread (and noticing you need sunspear rank etc...) I wanted to make a build that you can use without ranks needed, this kills the aatxe, terrorwebs and graspings quickly.
I am a n00b at farming UW so seem to die everytime on my way to the chaos pits (meh, I need to learn the run a bit better) but even without the chaos pits I grab 2-4 ectos every run or 2.
Always aggro everything you can, you never want less than 4 things around you for the boost from channeling.
( btw My primary farming has always been ele so am a nub at sin farming so please go easy when ripping my build apart xD )

A few people have mentioned Builds without Allegence and SS Skills.
I'm building up a Sin for the sole purpose of this farm and I have found that R1/R6 (which teotuf says is the minimum) is relativley staight forward.
Getting r1 Luxon/Kurzick is fairly easy with easy with a bit of AB'ing (and quiet fun for a PvE'er). I just use my Ranger (cos it is an account based title) and transfer faction every 5000.
And R6 SS comes doing all Primary Quests in NF, then Consulate Docks mission and then completing Hunted! Higher ranks in SS may take more time.
I'm not taking anything away from the guys who post the build without these, I may try them if R1/R6 isn't enough.

R1/R6 is perfect. Both I and a friend have been running this build separately with those ranks, and between us we make an average of 8 ectos a run with no problems. And because the allegiance title is account wide, it only ever has to be done once - usually the skills are useful on your other characters as well.

Health does not matter as you will be under Shadow Form 100%.

Onix, I had a question about your build. I've been using wandering eye too because I think it's more useful than viper's. I've also thought about using clumsiness, but I didn't know if hexing a mob in 'flee mode' made it attack you and I'm too lazy to test it. So, does casting clumsiness actually get everything to attack, or just the 3 that were already attacking?

Onix is a pokemon OnyX isn't
but in answer to yours
from the start I aggro all the chamber as per the guide in this thread, then choke them behind the quest ghost and the braziers then use clum, wait 2 secs then use wandering eye, I usually target the aatxe with both and nothing gets chance to flee and it also stops "fear me" from the graspings and hits everything thats is gathered around you

Just making a note here. For people who are just looking to farm ectos, they should just do NM with this build, as the drop rate is the same for ectos, it is faster, and I like this build better than the A/e variant as this one has better energy management AND the monsters dont scatter from your spells whereas the A/E version does.

I've been practicing with this in NM, and I can clear everything up to the run, but I can't get past the obsidian behemoths... they always form a wall that I cant fit through... how are you supposed to run past them? The opening is pretty narrow, and every time I can't fit through them...

Yeah. But you must remember to maintain SF first, then use the damage chain. It's usually:
Perma SF -> SoF, Ether, Cry, Radiation Field -> Perma SF -> Damage chain -> Perma SF -> ? -> Profit!

If I have time I will show you the run, IGN: Ace Of Noobs
And if you want to try yourself, just stick to the corners away from the behemoths, and if you do see that the path will likely make you hit a trap, precast feigned neutrality

Tried this build about 25 times today, keep dying (I hated Aechoed SF -.-)
Also, I seem to be killing them very slowly (R6 Sunspear, R3 Kurzick)
Any help?

I had same problem so that is why I made my own build and posted it here
I have no sunspear rank as assasin was made 2 months ago purely for farming
hence my build has no rank dependent skills

Few questions about the run to the planes: Do you maintain SF or not? you've said no (running that with only dark escape and feigned makes me queasy at the thought of it), but in the video I see you did, so can it be done either way?
And with Nat. Renewal, what duration do you need on DP so it doesn't run out before you're done with arcane?

Imo 8 would be fine, but it's not that hard to achieve. 4 seconds Arcane Echo, 0,75 aftercast, 2*0.66 = 1.32 second is in total about 6 seconds. So 4 deadly arts is enough (3+1 or any other combination, maybe 3+3?)

When i said dont maintain SF was before the update, where you can only keep it up using 4 skills instead of 3, one of which i dont have. now however, you can keep SF up in mountain with just DP, AE, and SF, and leave the last slot for a utility skill (or dmg skill in NM), so it's possible to maintain SF in mountains and still run past the charged blacknesses.

you really can survive with 0 in deadly arts, because you can activate DP in the middle of arcane echo since it's a stance. i use a longer duration because that's about 5 extra energy every 40 secs, but it's not necessary in any way
